After an introductory chapter, that goes briefly through the Arthur Andersen history, the book is organized in three main parts: I. The Seven Columns or Basic Principles of the Andersen Model, II. Turning Principles into Practice and III. The Decomposition of the Model.

AUTHORS

Francisco López holds a degree in Business Science and an MBA from ESADE, and a degree in Law from the University of Barcelona. He is a consultant and lawyer. He is an expert in organisation, strategy and advice on complex business transformation processes, especially in family businesses. As a consultant he has worked for many companies in almost all sectors, both in Spain and abroad.

Until 2003 he was an international partner at Andersen, the now defunct auditing and consulting firm, which he joined in 1989 when it absorbed the consulting and systems firm that Paco had founded in 1982 (CMC). He is currently an advisor and director of various companies and investment funds.

He combines his various activities with that of editor of Libros de Cabecera (of which he is the founder) and with that of business angel. He has written and published several books on business management, finance and investment.

Carmelo Canales Abaitua was born in Bilbao in 1960, holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Comercial de Deusto (1982) and began his professional career at Arthur Andersen in 1984. After a few years in auditing, he moved into consulting, where he spent the rest of his career at Arthur Andersen, first in Bilbao and later in Madrid, when, following the Enron debacle, the consulting division in Spain was sold to BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting USA), creating BearingPoint Business Consulting España.

In October 2005, he embarked on a new professional stage to practice consulting from his own office (Vingest), as an associate of the professional services firm ATTEST. Between 2001 and 2004 he was Vice-President of the historic Athletic Club de Bilbao.
